Hello, my name is Ian McTavish
I’m an Auckland-based Artist, working from my studio in Herne Bay. I cut, shape and make handcrafted my fish art using wood, sheet metal and acrylic paints.
My fish art pieces are then photographed in high definition and printed onto acid free high quality art paper.
I am inspired by the ocean and rivers of New Zealand. The blues and greens of the waters in the outer Hauraki Gulf and the fast clears waters of Lake Taupo and the Tongariro River.
My images are caricatures, and show colours and shades as my interpretation of the fish I paint.
Original artworks are available for sale and I produce framed and unframed prints of my art, for sale on this site.
